This Brooch has been in the family since the 1920s - old California estate - Art Deco Filigree Diamond and Sapphire Brooch - Unmarked with early European cut diamonds and French cut Ceylon blue sapphires. Brooch is a pale yellow gold and tests at least 14k, it is unmarked with an early push safety clasp and ball hinge, slightly domed, the pin follows the shape of the brooch - hand crafted ogee filigree work in a solid framed setting with openwork sides. The brooch has 20 2.5mm early euro cut (table is smaller) bright and clear diamond at approx. .05ct each and the center has 12 smaller but fully euro cut 2mm diamonds of approximately .04ct each framing 3 2.5 x 1.5 French cut sapphires (individually cut - each table varies slightly in shape and size, well matched in color). The brooch measures 1 5/8 x 5/8 inches and weighs 6 grams. It is in excellent vintage condition.
