We love these deep dark blue sapphires for their natural color and opacity, which is how they look straight from the mines of India, South East Asia and Africa. What we find particularly fun about them is that they are more raw and closer to nature so you know you are getting a real true blue natural sapphire. Our sapphires are completely natural, with all of nature's beauty and imperfections.

SIZE & SPECS
The earrings measure approx. 1-1/4" (31.75mm) long, with Sterling Silver Ear Wires. Each sapphire is genuine, unique, approx. 5/16"-3/8" (8-10mm), and bezel-set by hand, in Sterling Silver. Rhodium, a relative of Platinum, keeps the Sterling Silver shining bright, with no tarnishing. A "Bezel Setting" is a metal rim that encircles the sides of a stone and holds it securely.

Sapphires are found in many parts of the world, the most prized from Myanmar, Kashmir and Sri Lanka. Not only are they Victoria's birthstone (she's a September baby), traditionally, Sapphires symbolize nobility, truth, sincerity, and faithfulness. They have decorated the robes of royalty for centuries. In ancient Greece and Rome, kings and queens were convinced that blue Sapphires protected their owners from envy and harm. During the Middle Ages, the clergy wore blue Sapphires to symbolize Heaven, and ordinary folks thought the gem attracted heavenly blessings.
