Natural Precious Sapphire Hoop earrings in yellows, pinks, blues and whites.
WHAT ARE THEY?
Inspired by our childhood candy necklaces, we used gorgeous multi-colored genuine and precious sapphires to create Retro Mod Hoop earrings for the grownup Fashionista! The colors create a beautiful ombré effect, a wonderful alternative to single color sapphire earrings.
We were thrilled when we found these gemstones from one of our favorite gem dealers, as we haven't been able to offer sapphires of this size and color saturation at an attainable price. Victoria, Elizabeth's sister business partner and co-design conspirator, is a September baby, and loves a colorful alternative to the traditional blue birthstone!
SIZE & SPECS
The hoop diameter is approx. 3/8" (9.5mm) long with 5mm fully faceted Sapphires, and 14k Gold Filled Ear Wires
WHY SAPPHIRES?
Sapphires are found in many parts of the world, the most prized from Myanmar, Kashmir and Sri Lanka. Not only are they Victoria's birthstone (she's a September baby), traditionally, Sapphires symbolize nobility, truth, sincerity, and faithfulness. They have decorated the robes of royalty for centuries. In ancient Greece and Rome, kings and queens were convinced that blue Sapphires protected their owners from envy and harm. During the Middle Ages, the clergy wore blue Sapphires to symbolize Heaven, and ordinary folks thought the gem attracted heavenly blessings. In other times and places, people instilled Sapphires with the power to guard chastity, make peace between enemies, influence spirits, and reveal the secrets of oracles. Sapphire is the gem for 5th and 45th anniversaries. - American Gem Trade Association, GIA
