Blue and Gold earrings

                            These are just awesome.  These beautiful earrings are made using two gilded fusee pocket watch balances. The pocket watch they came from would have been in use during the middle to late 1800's.  These balances have kept their beautiful gold gilding through the years and they are complimented by Swarovski crystals at the top, middle, and below.**Provided I have more fusee balances in gold, these earrings could be made with almost any color Swarovski crystal. Contact us if you would like something different. I almost made these with emerald green crystals, then switched to garnet crystals, then finally decided on the blue.    The intricate engraving on these pieces have always piqued my imagination and raises the question, "Why did they do such beautiful engraving on a part that was never seen?"  The owner would have taken the watch to a watch maker to fix and would have no need to open it up.  Only the watch maker saw these beautiful details inside the pocket watch.  I think I love pocket watches because they demonstrate a rule we should all keep in mind-- never judge a person by their physical appearance.  Pocket watches were beautiful inside. These beauties are 1 3/4 inches long from the top jewel to the bottom of the dangles.  The balance is 1 inch long by itself.  At their widest point, the earrings are 1/2 inch wide.The hooks are gold plated.Thanks so much for looking!
