Sapphire pendant. Certified by Master Valuer Retail Replacement Value 910.00+ dollars.Sterling setting with Rhodium coating (see imp. note).
NOTE: Sapphire was appraised before it was set, so $910 appraisal value is for stone only. Setting is sterling with a rhodium coating to prevent tarnishing and give the look of white gold people love ( gold is yellow: the white is from a rhodium coating on the gold) Hundreds of genuine jewellery items, from a few dollars to a few thousand, and profits help support animals. Unless directed otherwise, my profits go to Cats Anonymous, a charity I have supported and volunteered at for years. But, if you have an animal sanctuary you would prefer to support, please let me know, There are less than 100 master valuers in all of Canada, and their appraisals of retail replacement are accepted by all insurance companies, unlike the highly inflated ones written to make you think you are getting a bargain when you are not. All our gems have been inspected by a qualified gemologist. Items with the word “Certified” in the heading have already been examined by one of Canada’s foremost appraisers .We work closely with one of Canada’s finest gemmologists, Lee R. Rock, FCGmA, RMV,CDG, CAP-CIA, a Registered Master Valuer, Accredited Appraiser, and one of the most respected gemologists in Canada. We will provide a copy of our appraisal, based on her findings, free of charge. The retail replacement value and description on our appraisal will be accurate ( we do not issue over inflated evaluations) But, for insurance purposes, you may require a copy of her appraisal. (Actually, we are finding that insurance companies usually accept our appraisals….but we cannot guarantee that) If you wish the master valuer to provide her appraisal with her seal, we can arrange it for $35 ( a regular $60 value) I set the sapphire in the setting after the master valuer had appraised it. so I am not making any allowance for the setting other than it's cost to me. My prices are determined by what I had to pay. You benefit from my experience. The master valuer appraised the sapphire for a retail replacement value of $910. It is 6.46 carats, 16.5 x 11 x 3 mm. red Orange 5/3 Type two, included. If not included, would be tens of thousands of dollars. . PLEASE NOTE: We use earth mined gems only....true gems that go up in value and are an investment, unlike the man made ones so prevalent today. But they are NOT perfect. Expect flaws. These flaws were taken into account by the master valuer when appraising. When available I provide photo of gemstone before being set.... professional photos, usually far better than mine. Retired, I make pendants from natural stone and gem stones and sell them to raise money for animal sanctuaries. I was also fortunate enough to be able to buy out a jewellery makers stock. I did not make the settings themselves, but in most cases have set stones into the settings. When I did not trust the strength of the sterling prongs, I used a jewellers glue as a precaution. Unless otherwise stated, the accent stones are well cut cz that give appearance of diamonds. The settings are sterling, with a Rhodium coatingIMPORTANT NOTES: Rhodium is a so called noble metal found with platinum, actually costing more than gold by the ounce. One of the most sought after looks today is white gold. Yet, gold is yellow. Even when mixed with other metals it still retains a yellow cast. The silver-white look people love is actually a thin coat of Rhodium placed over the top of the gold. So, a rhodium coat over sterling gives the look of white gold at a fraction of the cost. Of course, the rhodium also prevents tarnishing. Please be aware that high quality rubies and sapphires can sell for tens of thousands of dollars per carat, and are beyond our means to offer on this site. We would be glad to source such stones for anyone willing to pay the price, but they are very rare, and the prices reflect that. We strongly suggest that anyone wanting a high quality genuine stone, but unwilling to pay the prices required look into spinels. They are a beautiful gem in their own right, and it is important to note that one of the most famous of all stones, the Black Prince’s Ruby, part of the Imperial State Crown, part of the British Crown Jewels has now been discovered to be a spinel! It fooled kings and queens for centuries, so spinel is certainly worth your while to look at. There are a great many fake spinels on the market…as are there rubies and sapphires, so we examine all of ours very carefully. Genuine stones are a great investment. fakes are not.
